For best results, use an embossed cookie recipe for a dough that won't spread or lose its design during the baking process. Be sure to chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. Roll out chilled dough with a traditional rolling pin, lightly dust its surface with flour to keep it from sticking, then roll the embossed mini rolling pin across the surface once, but with a firm, even pressure.
